Emily Trunnell, Ph.D. is a neuroscientist, a research associate and an InstitutionalAnimal Care and Use Committee liaison for PETA. She works with governmentagencies and other scientists to replace the use of animals with superior researchmethods. Her victories include ending animal starvation experiments at St. Mary'sUniversity in San Antonioand persuading 14 companies—including Johnson &Johnson, Bayer, Roche, and other top pharmaceutical companies—to end their use ofthe forced swim test.
