Dr. Aziz Fatnassi


Dr. Aziz Fatnassi is an anthropologist, assistant professor of interdisciplinary studies in the Core Division, and Lead Faculty in the Degree Design Lab at Champlain College. Aziz’s teaching and research focuses on multimodal literacy processes, transnational networks, and aspirational resilience strategies, utilizing the methodology of participant action research. Prior to Champlain College, Aziz served as a research fellow with College for America at Southern New Hampshire University, and as a research associate in the Department of Anthropology at Indiana University. Aziz’s applied work in international development engages topics of youth, migration, education, cultural resilience, and human rights activism.  Over the past 10 years Dr. Fatnassi has led and consulted on multimodal projects engaging these issues for government, industry, non-profit, and community stakeholders across North America, Europe, and the MENA region.
