Business Game Changers Radio with Sarah Westall: Technocracy - Micro Management of Society on a Mass Scale or a Force for Good? What happens when technology is used to control methods and procedures? In many businesses and organizations, this can mean more efficiency, higher quality, and higher profits. But what happens when the need to control is pushed to an extreme? When we work to force out any variation from the system. It can be great, for example when we have a piece of machinery being manufactured to precise specifications like a bolt, washing machine, or even a car.

Now what happens when we try to apply this to how we manage people, whole organizations, or even society at large? Can this help us become more efficient and prosperous or do human beings naturally shut down and/or reject these conditions?

Many bureaucrats today are actively applying and tinkering with these ideas in mass. For example, engineers use technology to plan energy and water needs for our communities, enabling a ready supply, saving waste and reducing overall costs. Also, the NSA actively monitors all electronic activities for purposes of “National security” and social networking sites, such as Facebook and Google, have been actively filtering out advertising that does not match their business agenda or political ideals. So this begs the question: Just because we have the technology to do something, should we? Are these positive activities or simply micro management of resources and people on an unprecedented scale?

This episode we discuss this issue in depth. We discuss the Technocracy movement, it’s origins, and how our advances in technology have enabled a new way of managing society.
The Technocracy movement defined by Wikipedia:

Technocracy is an organizational structure or system of governance where decision-makers are selected on the basis of technological knowledge. A Technocrat has come to mean either "a member of a powerful technical elite" or "someone who advocates the supremacy of technical experts". Examples include scientists, engineers, and technologists who have special knowledge, expertise, or skills, and would compose the governing body, instead of people elected through political parties and business people.

Business Game Changers invites Patrick Wood, an expert on the Technocracy Movement, to provide deep insight into this timely issue. We also discuss the Trilateral Commission and its current views on global management.

Wood is the author of Technocracy Rising: The Trojan Horse of Global Transformation (2015) and co-author of Trilaterals Over Washington, Volumes I and II (1978-1980) with the late Antony C. Sutton. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of Technocracy News and Trends, an online news publication.

Wood is a frequent speaker and guest on radio shows around the nation. He is widely considered on of the foremost experts on the Trilateral Commission and the Technocracy Movement.  His current research builds on Trilateral Commission hegemony, focusing on Technocracy, Transhumanism and Scientism, and how these are transforming global economics, politics and religion.
