The artist is Michael Bernard Beckwith, visionary founder and spiritual director of the Los Angeles-based Agape International Spiritual Center featured in the mega-hit book and film, “The Secret” and whose PBS special, “The Answer is YOU,” is currently airing nationally. The music is part of a fast-growing genre known as “ecstatic dance,” “conscious dance,” or “techno-tribal.”  Fitting perfectly in this groove, Beckwith’s melodic voice is so pure and his teachings so powerful that this album takes the genre to another level.

In the hands of veteran songwriter and producer Stephen Bray, Beckwith’s words become an instrument, with lines repeated, filtered, and rearranged. John Potoker lends his engineering genius to the mix to make Bray’s music and Beckwith’s teachings a sublime concoction conspiring for your own good. In his worldwide speaking engagements, Beckwith shares “words that I speak from deep within my heart” delivered with a unique musical flair.  TranscenDance makes those teachings fun and accessible for all and utilizes the mystical power of song to allow us to “hear with the ear behind the ear,” as Beckwith eloquently shares in “In this Love Together,” a song on the album.

Renowned guest singers populate the tracks, including Siedah Garrett, the Grammy-winning and Oscar-nominated singer-songwriter who co-wrote Michael Jackson’s hit “Man in the Mirror” and recorded a #1 hit duet with Jackson, “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You;” Niki Haris, a hit singer and longtime backing vocalist for Madonna, who has recorded with Whitney Houston, Mick Jagger, Ray Charles, Kylie Minogue and others; Sovory, whose talents have been called on by Lenny Kravitz, Sheryl Crow, Eric Clapton and more; and R&B icon Brenda Lee Eager, who has collaborated with such artists as Jerry Butler, Ray Charles, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Prince and Aretha Franklin.

The producing team is producer/songwriter Stephen Bray who wrote the music for this album, and who teamed with Madonna on many hits including “Into the Groove,” “Express Yourself,” and “True Blue.” Bray

is also Grammy-nominated for Best New Artist and Tony-nominated for music and lyrics on The Color Purple; and the Grammy-nominated remix engineer and producer, John Potoker, who has shared his many talents on projects for Paul McCartney, U2, Ray Charles, Quincy Jones, No Doubt, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, the Rolling Stones, Peter Gabriel, Elvis Costello, Krishna Das, Madonna, Talking Heads, and more.
