Dr. Pat Baccili and “The Dr. Pat Show” Win Prestigious
2005 International Crystal Award of Excellence
Seattle, Washington. April 27, 2006 -- Alternative Talk Radio KKNW 1150AM announces today that it’s popular host of “The Dr. Pat Show”, Dr. Pat Baccili, has won the prestigious 2005 International Crystal Award of Excellence for her interview “Healing Post 9/11 Workers: Detoxing in New York City”.
This honor is given by the Communicator Awards, an international competition that recognizes outstanding work in the communication field. Entries are judged by industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence, and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. There were 1369 entries in the Communicator Awards 2005 Audio Competition.
The top winning interview was broadcast live on KKNW 1150AM-Seattle from a local fire house at Ground Zero in New York City. There Pat talked with fire fighters, police, and other service workers who labored around the clock during the months after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Many dedicated service workers put their own lives in jeopardy, ingesting harmful and toxic chemicals from the air in NYC though this traumatic time. In this poignant interview, workers tell their own stories and describe how their lives changed through participation in a detoxification program donated by Tom Cruise to assist them in regaining their health.
Dr. Pat’s excellence as a radio host has reached thousands of people, helping them realize they can fulfill their own dreams through positive thinking and action, and by hearing the top people in their fields who are role models for having done just that. Pat is considered one of the top hosts in the business in her ability to draw out the best in each and every guest. Her talent has been praised by people like Stedman Graham, Gary Zukav, Steven Covey, Ram Dass, Mallika Chopra, Jack Canfield, Jean Houston, Wayne Dyer, Angeles Arrien, and Gloria Steinem, to name only a few. U.S. Congressman Jim McDermott (D-Washington) described his interview with Pat as the best hour of radio he has spent since being elected to public office.
As is apparent in winning this prestigious award, Dr. Pat is not only an engaging radio personality, but more importantly, she knows how to use radio to be in service of something greater than her. This is apparent in the quality of programming she regularly provides to thousands of listeners each week.
