MOBE on a Mission to End Chronic Pain
Over 100 million Americans suffer from chronic pain, more than diabetes, heart disease and cancer combined. According to WebMD, chronic pain is any pain that lasts longer than six months. It can be excruciating, episodic or continuous, merely inconvenient or totally incapacitating.
Signals of pain remain active in the nervous system for months or even years. This can take both a physical and mental toll on a person causing additional issues to make the situation worse such as anxiety, stress, depression, anger and fatigue.
To treat chronic pain, our current health care system will typically prescribe drugs to block the pain. Often patients are treated with 5 to 6 different medications at the same time, which can cause numerous side effects such as insomnia, constipation, diarrhea, and many other ailments. Worse, patients often become addicted to these drugs causing the need for more and more to block the same level of pain.
One company, MOBE, is on a mission to change this paradigm and help people break this routine. They have an army of guides that work one on one with each patient to help them take control of their lives and stop the pain at its source. Their guidance has changed lives and is fundamentally changing the way people view health care. It is also saving people and their companies millions in health care costs.
In today’s episode, Gino Tenace, CEO and Founder of Mobe, joins us to share his companies mission and journey. Gino has been in the health care industry most of his life serving many executive roles including senior vice president of United Healthcare and Chief Strategy Officer for MedSolutions. He has presented before the healthcare teams for President George W. Bush and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and most recently, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.
