Business Game Changers Radio with Sarah Westall: Debt, War, Corruption versus Innovation & Abundance: Can the U.S. Still Lead the World? In order to make this assessment, it is important to understand where we sit in the world in relation to other countries. We also need to look inward and assess whether we are financially healthy and managing our internal affairs effectively. This type of analysis is clearly complicated, but in an effort to get a good picture of the United State’s place in the world, I compiled a collection of facts and charts to shed some light.

 

The United States is clearly still a world leader. We have maintained the highest GDP in the world; 63% higher than China, 320% higher than Japan and 435% higher than Germany (the next three largest economies). This obviously gives the United States massive influence in the world. Buying power is enormous, and we wield a lot of it.
