Business Game Changers Radio with Sarah Westall: Anonymous, the dark web, and cyber warfare: A Look Behind the Scenes with Bob WeissCyber espionage and cyber warfare has unfortunately become a way of life for governments, businesses, and it impacts everyday citizens. Our lives are increasingly being integrated into various data driven technologies in everything that we do. Whether we are banking, booking airline tickets for vacation, or communicating with our college kids across the country, it will likely include the internet and private data traveling all over the country and world. With our data being out there for the taking, almost every aspect of our life can now be hacked and controlled by anyone, including bad guys next door or across the world. Our current reality inherently comes with big problems that we need to resolve in order to maintain a free, stable, and safe society where commerce can be unhampered and privacy can be maintained.

Many recent activities in the cyber world, often in the dark web, highlight the way our world is operating behind the scenes. Recently, a group of hackers who call themselves Anonymous has declared war on ISIS.  Here is what Wikipedia says about Anonymous:

Anonymous (used as a mass noun) is a loosely associated international network of activist and hacktivist entities. The group became known for a series of well-publicized publicity stunts and distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks on government, religious, and corporate websites.

Dozens of people have been arrested for involvement in Anonymous cyber attacks, in countries including the US, UK, Australia, the Netherlands, Spain, and Turkey. Evaluations of the group's actions and effectiveness vary widely. Supporters have called the group "freedom fighters"[8] and digital Robin Hoods[9]while critics have described them as "a cyber lynch-mob"[10] or "cyber terrorists".[11] In 2012, Time called Anonymous one of the "100 most influential people" in the world.[12]

As you can see, some people view Anonymous as a source for good and others not so much.

My current episode of Business Game Changers covers this issue and many others relevant to the cyber world. Todays guest, Bob Weiss, joins us to discuss Anonymous, Snowden, NSA, password protection, the dark web, and cyber warfare with China, Russia, Iran, and ISIS.

Bob is a security expert and certified ethical hacker. His firm, Wyzguys, provides computer security, network security, web site security, and computer and network support.
