Business Game Changers Radio with Sarah Westall: Is World Peace Possible? With all of the conflict occurring in this country and around the world, it’s hard to believe that world peace is possible. However, we must constantly work towards this ideal to creating a safer and thriving society. Without working toward this goal on a constant basis, our communities will undoubtedly spiral into chaos and violence.

The responsibility to work on these problems is not only that of our leaders (i.e. politicians, business leaders, etc…), it is also our personal responsibility to create healthy peaceful environments in our own lives. Peace is possible with each person creating their own peace starting with their family, co-workers and neighbors. Creating peace can be an overwhelming problem without breaking it down into actionable parts that each person can achieve.

In this country there has never been a more relevant time to take this problem seriously. A recent worldwide survey (18 months ago) conducted by Gallup International asked over 66,000 people in 65 countries what country posed the greatest threat to world peace, the results showed that the United States was viewed as the biggest threat by far with 24% of the vote. Pakistan was a very distant second with 8% followed by China at 6%.

It’s often difficult for us to accept what others think of us. After all, how can we be worse than other countries where freedom is not respected? Regardless, the fact is that people around the world have views of our country that most of us do not accept or like. The recent violent events occurring in our country does not help.

One group has embarked on the largest project of its kind to bring peace and understanding to the world by fostering understanding and communication. They are traveling to 100 countries and all over the United States filming peace blogs. Their goal is to document and track the current state of mind of people all over the world. From London, Pakistan, the Middle East, and back to the United States, they will be stopping at schools, luminaries, coffee shops, malls, and even bus stops getting a pulse of the current mindset. Their work will result in a full-length documentary that weaves together an understanding of our world’s state of peace. Take a look at the trailer for their film: https://vimeo.com/155905910. You can also track their progress as they film in each location.

Today’s show we are joined by Deborah Greene, National Director of the Peace Alliance and CEO/Founder of Live a Moment, to share her company’s documentary project and to learn more about her Live a Moment initiatives, fundraising activities, and social media applications.
